DESCRIPTION: This "Tip of Cape York" demonstrates Jack's ability to construct an image using only shades of brown. This sunset is unlike any other. It is almost surreal both in its composition and in its textures. The extreme differences in the textures, allowed Jack to work with such a narrow band of the spectrum. The image is a sunset, but at this moment and at this place, the colours were shades of brown. Jack was fascinated by what he saw at Cape York. "Sunset at Cape York" is very different in every way to this piece. This image would appeal to a connoisseur of surreal art as this is what it virtually is. Cape York is the peninsula at the top of the eastern state of Queensland. This image may be showing the islands that break off to reach New Guinea.
