DESCRIPTION: Cliffs are that decisive point where land and sea abruptly meet. They are a strong metaphor for life and death, as the type of life that flourishes on either side is totally different. In this image Jack has once again brought out the heat and the power of this decisive place. The colors and textures tell you that this is a rugged place, a place of extreme contrasts. However, there is life as we see the two signature birds. The Kalbarri Cliffs form part of a national park in the hot, dry country north of Geralton on the central coast of Western Australia. Jack was a frequent visitor to the area in the 1980s and he loved its extreme contrasts. This image works well with "Zuytdorp Cliffs".
